Pond Building & Repair

A pond is the best thing on the back forty when it is built right and a permanent headache when it is not. Depth, clay seal, spillway, and watershed all have to agree with each other. We build new ponds and rescue old ones across Indiana, and we will tell you honestly whether your ground wants to hold water before anyone digs.

Pond Building & Repair in Indiana

New pond construction

Site evaluation, dam and core construction in the right clay, depth zones for fish and swimming, and spillways sized for the watershed above them. Built right, a pond outlives the person who ordered it.

Dredging and cleanouts

Old ponds silt in, shrink, and go shallow-warm-weedy. Dredging restores depth and brings a tired pond back to life, usually for far less than building new.

Dam and spillway repairs

Muskrat damage, erosion cuts, trees growing where trees must never grow, and spillways that stopped doing their job. Small dam problems become big dam problems; we fix them while they are small.

Shorelines and access

Beaches, fishing points, rip-rap protection, and the grading that makes a pond part of the property instead of a hole behind it.

Pond Building & Repair: quick answers

Will my ground hold water?

Much of Indiana sits on clay that seals beautifully, but not all of it. We evaluate soil before promising anything, because a pond that will not hold is just an expensive low spot.

How big can a pond be without permits?

Size, dams, and stream connections can trigger state rules. Part of our job is flagging when a project needs a permit conversation before dirt moves, so you never find out afterward.

Can you fix a leaking pond?

Often, yes, depending on where it leaks. Clay lining, core repairs, and compaction solve many leaks. We will give you an honest read, including when the answer is that the fix costs more than it is worth.

The rest of the toolbox

Most projects touch more than one trade. Same call, same standard.
